Eco Week
At Luddendenfoot school we are very aware of our environment and the damage that we may be causing for both us now and for the future. as a result of this we are trying our very best to do everything we possibly can to save and assist our environment.
Our school held an eco-week between the 23rd - 28th November 2008.
All pupils and staff took part in a thoroughly enjoyable week. Here are just some of the many activities that we shared during the week.
On Tuesday, Class 5 had a visit to the Waste Works in Manchester. Here we learned about the many aspects of recycling paper and plastic.

Class 4 also had a trip to the Waste Works in Manchester. They learned more about paper recycling. Both classes saw the paper recycling plant that can recycle 3 tonnes of paper per hour. We learned that to make 1 tonne of paper we would have to cut down 17 trees if we didn't recycle our paper!

At the end of the week we held a very special assembly, to which parents were invited, and a winner of the eco bag design competition was chosen from each year group. They all received some great eco-friendly prizes.
An overall winner was chosen from these designs and this design will go on the front of our school eco shopping bags.

Iplas Assembley
In school we are collecting plastic bottle tops, hopefully to be able to recycle them into pieces of furniture for us to use.
During eco week, a spokesman from the company who will recycle our bottle top collection and make them into the furniture came into assembly to talk to the whole school.
