Our Maths Lessons

Spring Term 2010

On Thursday 7th and Friday 8th January our school was hit by the snow, making it extremely difficult for some members of our class to get to school. For the few of us that did make it in (about half the class), work carried on as normally as possible.

Our maths lesson ojective for those 2 days was to revisit the method of grid multiplication. Here we are working very hard on our sums!

It helps if our working out is clear on our whiteboards.

Brilliant work, Georgia!

We show Mr. Priestley how we've worked out our answer on our whiteboards.
Mr. Priestley comes around each table to see how we're doing with our work.

Hard at work!
Mr. Priestley goes through the grid method on the interactive whiteboard.

It's very important that we concentrate!

Sometimes we check our own answers with the calculators.
Let's do it together and see if we've got the same answer!
"Did you get that answer?"
"I'll tell you the sum and you check it on the calculator."
Or sometimes it's easier to just check it on your own.
