On Tuesday 13th September, Class 5 went on their annual trip to help, Dongria, Bear and Billy, the group 'Treesponsibility' with their tree planting.
We have been taking part in this eco activity for 3 years now and it's always great fun.
This year we planted the trees at a beautiful private home in Cragg Vale.
We were made extremely welcome by the home owners, who were actually our community vicar, Rev. McDonald and his wife, Victoria.
We planted over 130 ash and birch trees during the day, following a ground plan which had been very carefully thought out by Rev. McDonald and Victoria.
We had to protect the new trees with a larger protection tube as the fields are often visited by deer.
We had a fantastc day of teamwork and we worked extremely hard.
As it was very, very windy, the work was quite a lot harder to do and by the time we had finished I think we were all extremely windswept and exhausted!
We all had great fun and have learned a great deal as why we planted the trees.
