Class 4's Maths Week Diary 2007

Monday

It was a great day today.  In the morning we tried to web conference Holy Trinity School and Bolton Brow.  However, it didn't work! We looked at some French Websites on the laptops and learnt numbers to 60 in French.  We also completed some suduko quizes and made a calendar for next year. In the afternoon we all had fun playing snooker maths.  Some of the questions were hard.  We found out that the Brearleys and Esme were really good at this.  I wonder if they will win the tournement on Friday! We have started to plan a class trip to Leeds but we still need to work out how far it is and how much the trip will cost.  Class 4 are all looking forward to the maths hat competition on Friday.  Who will win?

Tuesday

It was a really fun and energetic day today.  First we did some dancing with Miss Helen.  We were all really tired after this session and also sweaty!  It was great fun but we were really worn out.  Hopefully the dance will be ready for our assembly.  Class 4 competed against class 5 at battleships.  We were glad to have the web cams to play this.  It was a competitive game.  The suduko was easier than yesterdays. We did lots of activities today but have run out of time to tell you about them all.  We might add some more details tomorrow if we have time.  We are excited about baking tomorrow.

Wednesday

It was a super dooper day today. Some people started the day with a cheerleading dance in assembly.  We all took part in baking chocolate chip buns.  We will sell them tomorrow for 20p each.  It was great fun cooking in groups with Miss Ford.  We all worked out how much ingredients we would need to make the buns.  All of the class estimated how many sweets were in the teddy and it was really fun.  Who will win? Some of us continued the snooker maths tournement.  This morning we drew bar charts to show the snacks class 4 have.  We hope more of the class will bring a snack so that our no snack column will go down. This afternoon we have worked on mirror art.  We still need to finish these.  We are hopefully finishing our battleships game against Class 5 tomorrow.  Most of the class are looking forward to PE tomorrow.  We wonder what we are doing? We are hoping we will have time to play more snooker maths tomorrow aswell.

Thursday

Today was a brilliant day because we sold buns and some of us bought them. In music we had a range of activities that involved sound and playing instruments. At breaktime we could buy flapjack that class 5 had made or buns that we had made.  We sold all of our buns and made a profit!  We had a great PE lesson with Mrs Pearce.  This included dancing which Lucy lead and also we played a game with the beach ball and answer maths questions. We continued our class snooker maths tournement and Jack is in the final for year 5.  Olivia and Esme had problems putting their names in so called themselves Ant and Dec! At the end of the day we made maths books for class 1.  We will hopefully have time to read them to class 1 tomorrow.  We didn't have time to finish our battleships game again today.  However we are sure we will finish it tomorrow.  We are looking forward to the snooker maths final tomorrow, the hat competition and also breaking up for half term!  Karis is upset she will miss tomorrow as she is going to Tenerife.  However we are sure she will be doing her maths on the beach.

Friday

It was a very tiring and hard day today.  Everybody came with their hats today.  It was good fun to walk around the hall showi ng off our hats.  Jessica was very pleased because she won for the year 4.  The snooker maths final took place.  It was a hard game. Esme tried very hard and played against Jack.  However Jack was exceptional at snooker maths and won!  We watched a maths video.  It had questions on it and it felt like it went on for ever.  Some of the questions were hard but we tried our best.  We continued with our game of battleships against Class 5 but still didn't get finished.  However, we feel that Class 5 might win the game!!!!!We finished off any unfinished work from all week.  We finally got our maths books for class 1 finished.  It has been a very fun week but we are glad we have got a weeks holiday! We hope we have another Maths week.
