Rosh Hashanah - Jewish Festival

All Jews have religious laws that tell them what they may or may not eat. These laws come from the Torah, the Jewish holy book, which was given to Moses on Mount Sinai.

Jews celebrate Rosh Hashanah with a meal of fish and they dip apple into honey.

Jewish people eat pomegranate because the pips represent 613 rules in the Torah.
Carrot Tzimmes is a kind of stew. The carrots are used because they look like gold coins.
Round Challah

This special, slightly sweet bread is eaten at the sabbath and at most festival meals.

The round shape also looks something like a crown as a reminder that God is king.
