The initial idea for 'Movember' was first thought of in 2003 in Melbourne, Australia. The plan was simple - to bring the moustache back as a bit of a joke and do something for men’s health.
In 2004 the campaign evolved and focused on raising awareness and funds for the number one cancer affecting men – prostate cancer.
The money raised as a result of Movember is channelled into a number of world class and innovative education, support, research and awareness initiatives.
Mr. Bromley, Mr. Priestley and Mr. Brearley began to grow their moustaches on the 1st of November in support of 'Movember'.
Some grew better than others!!!
On Friday 19th November 2010, in support of 'Movember', the whole school, both pupils and staff, were invited to adorn their moustaches and enjoy a non-uniform day to help raise money and awareness of prostate cancer.
We had some fantastic moustache creations!
A great day was enjoyed by all and so far we have managed to raise £135.20 for a very worthy cause.
Many thanks to everyone!
How do you like some of our 'taches'?
