Accidents Occurring at Playtime

Children with minor injuries will be sent to the staff room accompanied by another child. Any available member of staff may treat the injury, following our first aid guidelines. The member of staff attending to the injury will fill in a minor injuries form. This should be sent home with the child. No child should be left unattended after an injury.

More Serious Accidents

In the case of more serious accidents a named first aider should be sent for and, if necessary, the Headteacher informed.

Accidents Occurring at Lunchtime.

The S.M.S. is responsible for the continued supervision of the children. She is responsible for recording accidents in the accident book and for filling out minor injuries forms.

Accidents should be reported to the Headteacher and the Class Teacher.

Accidents Occurring During Lessons

Another member of staff should be sent for and the procedures above should be followed.

These procedures will be reviewed by the teaching and non-teaching staff on a regular basis.
