Home School Agreement

We aim to give all children the opportunity to develop skills, independence and confidence and to meet each child’s needs however special those needs might be.

The school will try to:

  • Care for your child’s happiness and safety
  • Ensure that your child achieves his or her best, as a valued member of the school community
  • Provide a well-prepared and balanced curriculum and meet the individual needs of your child
  • Achieve high standards of work and behaviour through building good relationships and developing a sense of responsibility
  • Keep you informed about general school matters and your child’s progress in particular
  • Be open and welcoming at all times and offer opportunities for you to become involved in the daily running of the school
  • Let you know about any concerns or problems that affect your child’s work or behaviour

Parents/Guardians

We/I shall try to:

  • Make sure the school has an up-to-date telephone number where I/we can be contacted in an emergency
  • See that my/our child goes to school regularly an on time. (Your child should arrive not before 8:30 and not after 8:40. The school rings the bell at 8:40, when the doors open. The register is taken at 8:50)
  • Make the school aware of any concerns or problems that might affect my/our child/s work or behaviour
  • Support my/our child in homework and other opportunities for home learning
  • Support the school’s policies and guidelines for behaviour, including the anti-bullying policy, which are available on request.
  • Attend parents’ evenings and discussions about my/our child’s progress
  • Get to know about my/our child’s life at school
  • Provide the school with information they will need to care for my/our child safely (e.g. medical information)

The Pupil

I will:

  • Arrive for school on time every day
  • Do my class work and homework as well as I can
  • Follow the schools’ behaviour code

Together we will:

  • Support the child’s learning to help them achieve their best
  • Keep in close contact over any special needs
  • Encourage children to keep the behaviour code
